Every luxury comes with its own set of chores and hot tubs and swimming pools are no exception. Keep your soaker or splasher hygienic and ready for you and your guests with a few recurring tasks.
Weekly Hot Tub Maintenance
Many maintenance tasks can be grouped together into a weekly schedule, but you may need to adjust this based on your equipment and usage frequency. On a weekly basis make sure you:
- Check pH levels
- Add sanitizer
- Rinse the filter
- Wipe down above the water line
- Wipe down the cover
Quarterly Hot Tub Maintenance
The remaining hot tub maintenance tasks can be grouped together into a quarterly cadence, but again, you may need to adjust this based on your equipment and usage frequency. Every 3 months make sure you:
- Flush the lines with a chemical flusher
- Disconnect the power
- Drain the tub
- Soak the filter in a chemical cleaner and rinse
- Clean all surfaces
- Refill the tub
- Balance the pH levels
- Add sanitizer (bromine or chlorine for non-saltwater soakers)
Weekly Pool Maintenance
Many swimming pool maintenance tasks can be grouped together into a weekly schedule, just adjust this list based on your equipment and usage frequency. On a weekly basis make sure you:
- Skim the surface
- Brush the walls
- Vacuum the bottom
- Clean the skimmer trap
- Test and add chemicals
Quarterly Pool Maintenance
The other pool maintenance tasks can be grouped together into a quarterly block. You might need to adjust this schedule based on your equipment and usage frequency. Every quarter:
- Shock the pool
- Test for dissolved solids and hardness
- Clean the filter
- Inspect the liner, pump, and any other equipment
